Lightbulb Christmas Puzzles - How to Play

    Hello everyone!

Christmas Puzzles are here! They can now be played in my Portal Worlds any time from now until Christmas Eve. There are no prizes, just fun! Answers will be announced here.

    Meadow World

Guess the 2 well-known Christmas Carols from the notes represented on a musical stave by lollipops. It helps to sing out loud! Some notes are short, some long; the guide to the left will help. Award yourself 5 points for each tune.

    Desert World

Santa has 9 presents to deliver to a house. Each of the 3 children who live there receives 3 gifts. The gifts are worth 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 17 gold. How does Santa split the gifts so each child gets the same total value in their Christmas stocking? 5 points for helping Santa.

    Snowy World

No puzzle here, just browse the busy Christmas Market. However, get 2 bonus points if you can spot the penguin!

    Water World

This puzzle is based on the popular “Word Search” puzzles (do an internet search if you need to find rules for how to do this kind of puzzle). Words can go backwards or forwards, but always in a straight line.

    How to play:

There’s a grid of decos (10 x 10) with each deco representing one letter. That letter is the FIRST letter of the pop-up description you see when you hover your mouse over that deco. To see the deco description you’ll need to select the “Inspect decoration” magnifying glass first (at the bottom of the screen next to the chat).

Can't see pop-ups? - Turn them on in your “Profile & Achievements”, “Settings” tab, and check the box “Show tooltips”.

Write down the letters as a grid on a piece of paper, then you’ll be ready to play. Note: the Sagittarius zodiac symbol represents a “Z” as I couldn’t find any decos whose description began with a Z.

See if you can find these Christmas cake ingredients in the grid:

BRANDY BUTTER CHERRIES CINNAMON CLOVES CURRANTS EGGS ICING JAM LEMONZEST MARZIPAN ORANGES RAISINS SPICES SUGAR SULTANAS.

Award yourself 1 point per word found.

    Hello everyone!

Here are the answers to the Christmas Puzzles:

    Meadow World

    The 2 carols are:

The Holly and the Ivy (5 points)
O Come All Ye Faithful (5 points)

Wrong answers included “That big aria” from “La Traviata” (which has nothing to do with Christmas) and “A Wombling Merry Christmas” by the Wombles (which has nothing to do with good music).

    Desert World

There are two possible answers here. Either:

    17 + 9 + 4
    14 + 10 + 6
    12 + 7 + 11

    Or:

    17 + 7 + 6
    14 + 4 + 12
    9 + 10 + 11

Either will end up with 30 gold’s worth of Christmas goodies in each stocking. Happy Santa. (5 points)

    Snowy World

The penguin is having a rest at the little Winter Tearoom. (2 points)

    Ocean World

The words BRANDY BUTTER CHERRIES CINNAMON CLOVES CURRANTS EGGS ICING JAM LEMONZEST MARZIPAN ORANGES RAISINS SPICES SUGAR SULTANAS are arranged like so:

    Name: Word Search Answer 2.jpg

(16 points). If Brandy was the first word you saw, you should feel guilty. If it was the only word you saw, you should probably seek help.

If you got all the answers correct you will have a grand total of 33 points.

Well done to all those who took part. I hope you enjoyed singing, counting, searching and puzzling. A Merry Christmas to you all and good health and happiness throughout the New Year!
