Our village was recently told that another village "owned" a BO competition, that we were competing in. They said they started it, so they should win it (we're at 60%. They're at 35%). Since it's a ruby BO, we felt it was open to all. I understand that at one time, some villages agreed to let others win a BO that they needed. Is that still a thing? Are we being mean spirited by not allowing another village to automatically win a BO?

What comes to mind is the word 'competition' - the dictionary states that means:

a contest for some prize, honor, or advantage

While it is true some valleys cooperate about BO's, which when it is negotiation is fine; and there is an unwritten rule that a BO that reaches 99% is intended for a Transformation and thus perhaps, out of respect, left for that village to complete at the appropriate time, there is nothing in the rules that says a village 'owns' a competition once started.

How impertinent of them to demand you let them win when you're already ahead and it's a ruby comp... Really, some people...
