Curious, really, about Mother's Day. various countries and communities celebrate it in May - as this year - and others celebrate it before Easter - traditionally as Mothering Sunday.

However, one aspect remains the same - it is a time to appreciate those who mother us; whoever that is.

This competition is not only for this server but is also being shared mira-wide . . .

It is your chance to write a poem...

... any style, any approach - it must however be in English.
And it must be in honour of the occasion of Mother's Day.
Yes, it may have a mira-based inspiration.
No, there is no need to illustrate it.

The prizes thread will be updated as the prizes too have been updated.

Please post your entries into this moderated thread before the closing date.
After the closing date they will be available for comments and a jury will select the 3 winners.

Competition Thinking Time: NOW
Competition Open: 03.05

Mothers Day is 08.05

Please review the FAQ thread before entering the competition.

Any complaints should be addressed in the first instance to admin@miramagia.com

All the times you cried at night
and I never saw your tears
When you prayed and hoped and dreamed
and surely even feared

In the darkness you wiped my brow
as fevers raged and soared
Or calmed the cries of terror when
bad dreams and horrors roared

Tonight I sit and remember those
nights from days gone by
And appreciate like never before
The love between Mom and I

My little girl is all grown up
and just has come to me
Mom my darling daughter
is now a mom to be.

If i knew as a child what i know now,Mom,
i probably wouldn't have made things
so hard for you.
I would have understood
that you were looking out for my best interest,
even though it may not have seemed so at the time.
I would have know how difficult it is to let go,
to stand back and let someone you love learn from their mistakes.:)
I would have realized
how fortunate i was to have a Mom
who was always there for me,
even after our argument,
even after i'd said things.
While it's too late for a lot of things,
it's not too late for me to tell you
that i appreciate how loving you are:rolleyes:
how giving you've aiways been
and that even though
i may not always be good at showing it
i LOVE you very much!!!♥♥♥

Miro is a little red dragon,
lots of players, but still always alone.
Does he have a mother, a father,
or siblings? This is all unknown.

I'd wish Travian Games would at least give him,
a sweet, caring, loving and special mother.
One who is always there when he needs her,
a fur-coated dragon like there is no other.

That when he trembles or falls,
she kisses his knees and his lips.
That when he's starving to death,
she hands over him a bag of chips.

One he can cuddle with when he's cold,
or when he's very very much afraid.
And who punishes him severe,
when he didn't listen and disobeyed.

That's all I'd wish for today,
because Miro is very special to me.
A sweet big red dragon-mother,
is all I'd like to see!

To you , Mother, from every side
Everyone are raising hands
You as the church a house is like his heart as the bell but you
They are playing organs of our lungs with it in a word Mother
In us as the echo they will be breaking up to our Days of remains
When a seriol of years will bury me I will recall secretly
Mother what nice above world
And nicer above the life

MOTHER, YOU ARE IN MY HEART FOREVER

THE FIRST TIME YOU HELD ME IN YOUR ARMS AND I WRAPPED MY TINY HAND AROUND YOUR INDEX FINGER, I FELT MY HEART SWELL WITH IMMEASURABLE JOY AND PRIDE. YOU KNEW THAT YOUR LIFE HAD BEEN TOUCHED IN A MIRACULOUS WAY THAT WOULD TRANSFORM EVERY DIMENSION OF IT FOREVER.

FROM THE MOMENT I WAS BORN, I BECAME THE FOCAL POINT OF YOUR EXISTENCE. MY SMILE WAS YOUR SUNSHINE IN YOUR HEART. MY HAPPINESS WAS THE ONLY TREASURE YOU SOUGHT. AND SO BEGAN THE GREAT PARADOX OF MOTHERHOOD.

WHEN MY HAND TOUCHED YOUR TINY HAND, YOU KNEW THAT I HAD BEEN CHOSEN TO NURTURE YOU, LOVE YOU, AND THEN GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO ONE DAY LET GO. LETTING YOU GO WAS NOT EASY

BUT LOOK AT ME NOW---A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WOMAN, STRONG IN MY CONVICTIONS AND DETERMINED TO FACE LIFE ON MY OWN, AND ON MY OWN TERMS---AND YOU STILL FEEL YOUR HEART SWELL WITH PRIDE AND JOY.

YOUR DREAMS FOR MY LIFE MIGHT NOT ALWAYS BE THE SAME ONES I SEEK. BUT ONE THING REMAINS THE SAME; MY HAPPINESS WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR GREATEST TREASURE. YOU KNOW NOW THAT THE TRUE MIRACLE OF THAT FIRST TOUCH LIES IN ONE SIMPLE TRUTH: EVEN THOUGH MY HAND MAY SLIP AWAY FROM YOURS, WE WILL HOLD EACH OTHER IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER. YOU ARE MY MOTHER ALWAYS AND FOREVER...
