Introduction

For a long time now you have wondered what Miramagia looks like beyond your village, the town and the world tree - where the villages are, what kind of landscape you will find between them... Now you can explore your valley a bit at a time and meet a number of miramagical creatures who need your help. Lace up your hiking boots and let us set off!

Access to the valley

You can reach the valley map in two different ways:
- Click the compass that you'll find at the top toolbar between the names of your village and your valley. You can use it to switch to the map of your own valley no matter where you are.

Note: The visitors display has been moved a bit to the right to make way.

- If the compass is hidden behind one of
the news banners, there is another way:
Open the teleporter menu and chose
"To the valley map".

The first view

What does the valley look like? Where is your village? Which villages are nearby? The first view of the valley will reveal your own village and the surrounding area. Round about there is a dense blanket of clouds hiding the landscape, obscuring the valley villages and quests from view. Be patient - there is no hurry, you will discover everything in good time.

Like the maps of the village, the city and the world tree, you're able to zoom to get an overview:

http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/blick_aufs_tal.jpg

Additionally, it's possible to shift the map of the valley. To move the map, just left-click and hold while moving the mouse.

The Pocket Guide

Take your time and look up the Pocket Guide, what the various symbols, functions and menus are for. You'll find it in the left part of the bottom bar, next to the Bag of Mushrooms.

When your cursor is pointing at an interesting element within the mini-map of the Pocket Guide, the text on the right will give you special information about it. Hovering over the icons of the toolbar will help you understand the function of each.

Where you would ordinarily find your spell book here you can find the various functions available for the World Map
You don't need the spell groups there because the avatars aren't displayed - so you won't be able prank others or give them gifts. You'll still have to visit a village for that.

Note: While you're exploring the map of the valley, your own avatar won't be displayed in the game at all. So you don't need to worry that someone might talk to you via short chat with you missing it.

Remove fog / Disperse clouds

Using this icon you can bit by bit uncover the valley
so you may explore it.
More information about that can be found here (http://forum.miramagia.com/showthread.php?t=3317&p=22806&viewfull=1#post22806).

Navigation within the valley

If you click one of these icons, the map will centre on:
- the town,
- the world tree,
- your own village,
- a village looking for neighbours.

It will be highlighted by a purple halo
for a moment so you can spot it more easily.

Note: The zoom you used before will be kept;
if you had zoomed out, you will find the town and the world tree right at the bottom/top edge of the map.

Visiting another valley

Ever wondered what the other valleys look like?
You can now go exploring - but the recommendation is to wait until your valley is cleared - then the other valleys
will also be unencumbered and ready for your inspection.
After clicking this icon, a travel menu will appear – insert the name of the desired valley and off you go.

Removing the Clouds

Clicking on a patch of fog will reveal how the fog can be cleared away. There are two options - one is to use mana. This option takes time to be completely effective. The second is to spend rubies for instant clearance.

http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/map_clear_fog.png

Now a fresh section of the valley is revealed for you and is ready to explore!
Once you have cleared your valley of fog, then you will be able to visit the other valleys - and see them free of fog, also.
Insert the following using the source code editor mode!!

Note:
- You have to clear the fog one patch at a time.
- If you are moving to a village lying in a different area of the valley (or even a different valley), your fog banks will follow you: the areas you have already cleared, will stay free from fog when you are in your new village. The area your village belongs to, is visible by default – the area you are leaving behind will get the status that your new area had before.
If you are moving into an area that is still veiled, this fog will move to the area your former village had belonged to:

http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/umzug-mit-nebel1-E.jpg

If you are moving into an area you already cleared from fog, you won’t discover any changes in the positions of the fog banks.

What can you see?

Once the fog has been cleared the valley is laid out before you. Hovering over different sections will reveal tooltips and further information.
Features of the landscape provide a wealth of images for the miramagician's imagination and multiple possibilities for developing further contents for Miramagia.

Villages

<tbody>
http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/empty_white.jpg
Shows a potential site for a new village; currently uninhabited.

Note:Clicking on it gives you the option to settle there.
Only you yourself are going to move, not the location of
your current village. You will find more information about
settling in a vacated village in this chapter (http://forum.miramagia.com/showthread.php?t=3317&p=22808&viewfull=1#post22808).

http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/00_white.jpg
On the other hand shows that the site is active and inhabited.

The tooltip gives you information about that village
such as village tree level, number of transformations
in that village, entry level for that village and available spaces.
Clicking on the village gives you the option to visit there.

</tbody>

The City and the World Tree

Either by using the correct icon on the Map toolbar, or by scrolling, it is possible to view the City or the World Tree.
You will find the City at the bottom end of the map and the World Tree at the top end.

http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/stadt_weltenbaum.jpg

To visit them simply click on the image and select the option to go there.

Miramagical creatures and quests

You may also discover this:

<tbody>
http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/questgeber.jpg
... and other hopping yellow exclamation marks.

These are revealed to belong to miramagical creatures with quests.
These quests involve exchanges, perhaps of seeds, perhaps of other goods.
You will get more information about them in the chapter about creatures in need (http://forum.miramagia.com/showthread.php?t=3317&p=22809&viewfull=1#post22809).

Display of the villages in the valley

You will get exact information from the tooltip, but the displayed image of the inhabited villages gives you a lot of information as well:

<tbody>
Example 1:
http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/05_kleiner_baum.jpg

There are two players living in this village, a mage and a shaman.
The mage's level is relatively low and the shaman's level is higher
(size of residence). The Village Tree is very small.
At the moment, the village isn't looking for further neighbours
and the minimum level is higher than your own level
(the uninhabited spaces are painted red).
Altogether the inhabitants performed 5 transformations up to now –
the Village Hill has already grown to a considerable size.

Example 2:
http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/02_white.jpg

Four players are living in this village (two mages, a druid, a shaman) –
three spaces are free; judging by the size of the residences
the druid's level is the highest of the four.
This village is currently looking for neighbours
(you can tell by the little binoculars attached to the village's label)
and your own level meets the requirements to move in
(the free spaces are painted in their normal colours).
The Village Tree has a remarkable size.
Up to now the inhabitants performed 2 transformations altogether –
the Village Hill is still humble.

Settling in a deserted village

Please note:
For the relief of the servers deserted villages will no longer be listed permanently in the townhall's village ranking but will be cleared off the list after a certain time - just like inactive players.
So even if the village ranking might suggest there aren't any empty villages in your valley, there may exist some villages with well-tended trees, that will be reactivated as soon as someone needs a village to settle in. It just isn't possible to get this information in advance.
You can still visit empty villages via the townhall ranking or via the teleport - other destinations - as long as they are listed in the townhall ranking.

Different ways to move to a certain village:

- You can chose a section on the valley map you like and settle in a deserted village on a particular place. One of the available empty villages will be activated for you but you can't chose it by yourself. If there aren't any villages that have already been inhabited (at least once,) a completely new village will be generated for you. You will be the first-ever person to water its village tree.

http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/kartengegend.jpg

- If you like a complete surprise, you can use the "move village" function to search for empty villages and pick one of them. Doing it that way won't give you any information about the size of the village tree or the whereabouts of the village on the map.

http://www.midtown-designs.de/upload_alissa/umzugsmenue_leeres_dorf_E.jpg

- If you want to choose your new location depending on the tree level, you'll have to do some more work: you can still get names of abandoned villages via the "Move village" menu or via the "Other destination" option in the teleport menu (insert common parts of names like "north", "middle", "new" and you'll get a list of matching names - village level 0 indicates the village is empty). Copy down the names and visit the villages via the "Other destination" option to have a look at the tree level and the valley it is in. When you have found the one you like best, you can move into it by inserting the exact name into the "Move village" menu.

Creatures in need

Here and there on the map of the valley you will find miramagical creatures needing your help. You are going to get to know the Race Snail, the Troubled Pixie, come across the Trader from the South and meet the Sorceress Emma in person. Every creature has its own type of quests from which one has been chosen for you.]

Clicking at one of those creatures will open a quest screen telling you about preconditions, the required items or resources and the promised reward.

This is Nicodemus - he very much desires some mushrooms for his magic tricks and usually will give you some special spells in return.

As usual the action button needs to be yellow before that option is active.
As soon as a quest is fulfilled, it will vanish from your valley map. But after a while, new miramagical creatures will appear and ask for your help.
If a valley questie disappears either because the time is up or the maximum number of players has been reached, a new valley questie will appear somewhere in your valley within 2 min.
Note: If you have fulfilled all currently existing quests you have to wait until a completely new valley questie appears before being able to do the next quest.

Note: The wishing well questie will exchange for 20% XP bonus - fulfilling more than one such will not affect the amount of XP; merely the duration of the bonus.
